POSITION SUMMARY:  This full stack developer will help design, develop, code, maintain and support websites and applications that help meet the needs of the University. As a member of BJU Marketing, they will work with all team members to help provide digital support for Marketing endeavors.


  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code using best development practices
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify best solutions to audience and institutional needs
  • Collaborate with designers, writers and photographers
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving our sites–primarily bju.edu
  • Build and manage forms
  • Focus on UI/UX: intuitive design and seamless interaction for outcomes
  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Monitor emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
  • Assist with email building and other digital efforts


  • Proven working experience in front-end web development; develop new user-facing features
  • Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Solid understanding of responsive web design
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI, browser/device compatibility, web functions and standards
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Proficient understanding of Wordpress
  • Basic understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Basic knowledge of image applications such as Photoshop is a plus
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse technologies and techniques
  • Good written, oral and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with others
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Back-end development expertise, including familiarity with PHP, SQL and API interaction is required
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps is a plus



Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
