Position Summary:  Provide student instruction from a Biblical worldview for undergraduate courses (both lecture and lab) in organic chemistry as well as for various other courses. As needed, advise students on academic matters and perform service duties within the department, division, or academic college


  • Teach organic chemistry lecture and lab.
  • Teach other assigned courses (lecture and/or lab).
  • Mentor and/or advise students both academically and spiritually.


  • Commitment to a biblically consistent view of science as articulated in the BJU Division of Natural Science philosophy statement
  • Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues
  • Effective in oral and written communication
  • Professional demeanor
  • Willingness to attend the BJU Summer Institute in Teaching Science
  • Commitment to a conceptual approach to teaching
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Graduate degree in organic chemistry:  (minimum MS, PhD preferred


  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Required Education: Graduate degree in organic chemistry (PhD preferred)
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
