Position Summary: Provide student instruction from a Christian worldview for various undergraduate courses; advise students concerning academic matters; and perform service duties as needed within the department, division, or academic school.


  • Teach assigned courses
  • Maintain course syllabi in current status and post them on the intranet
  • Maintain thorough and current curriculum vita
  • Serve as student advisor
  • Maintain regular posted office hours to be available to students
  • Continuously monitor research and trends to make recommendations concerning program and course updates
  • Support activities related to the academic school, division, and/or department
  • Committed to personal professional development
  • Participate in appropriate professional organizations
  • Assist the dean of the school and division chair with other duties
  • Attend chapel, faculty/stadd meetings, and departmental meetings
  • Administer student evaluations
  • Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Academic and Faculty/Staff Handbooks
  • Communicates the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates
  • Answers questions concerning faith, doctrine and creed of BJU to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJU


  • Possess knowledge of teaching field
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and inter-personally with students
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
  • Integrate biblical principles and subject matter
  • Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues

Required Education: Master's degree in area of teaching; Terminal degree preferred
Required Experience: Minimum two years experience
