Supervisor, Educational Technology Development

Position Summary: As a supervisor in Educational Technology Development, you are a part of a team that has a passion for helping teachers with educational technology in K-12 classrooms. Do you desire to integrate BJU Press materials with technology opportunities? Are you interested in working with teams at BJU Press to build and place digital resources that teachers and students can easily access? In our department, we are developing assets and processes to support our textbook writers as they suggest technology integration to our users.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the manager in finding, classifying, organizing, and filing educational technology content for use on a variety of media platforms. Edit and refine raw material as necessary to prepare products for BJU Press customers as directed by supervising managers
  • Assist in design and in testing of new technologies
  • Prepare and upload new content received from Content Development and other departments to online platforms
  • Actively participate in developing the latest organizational systems for managing the content of BJU Press
  • Evaluate and make corrections to the online content
  • Supervise Educational Technology Development teams as directed by the manager
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by senior manager
  • Stay current in educational trends in technology  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Conversant in educational technology tools (apps, eTextbooks, assessment tools, LMS integration, etc.)
  • Awareness of broad trends in educational technology (blended learning, personalized instruction, mobile devices, etc.)
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Customer-service skills
  • Communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate organizational ability

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Adobe Creative Cloud
