Supervisor, Educational Technology Development

Position Summary: Create material and oversee various teams in the development of educational technology content (specifically presentation slides) for BJU Press.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Manager, Educational Technology Development, in finding, classifying, organizing, and filing Ed Tech content for use on a variety of media platforms. Edit and refine raw material as necessary to prepare products for BJU Press customers as directed by supervising managers
  • Assist in design and in testing of new technologies
  • Create and upload presentation slides with new content received from Content Development and other departments to online platforms
  • Evaluate and make corrections to the online content
  • Supervise Educational Technology Development teams as directed by the Manager, Educational Technology Development
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by Senior Manager, Educational Technology
  • Stay current in educational technology trends

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Training and experience in some combination of education, technology, and design or publishing.
  • Conversant in educational technology tools (apps, eTextbooks, assessment tools, LMS integration, presentation and instructional resources, etc.).
  • Broad awareness of trends in educational technology (blended learning, personalized instruction, mobile devices, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong customer-service skills.
  • Strong communication skills: oral and written,
  • Ability to work in and positively contribute to a team environment
  • Demonstrate multi tasking and organizational ability
  • Detail and deadline oriented

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Google Suite
