POSITION SUMMARY: Support Student Discipleship and Ministry Development through research, curriculum development, coaching, administrative and operational support, and a combination of relationally oriented, project-oriented, and task-oriented skills. Responsible for developing ministry educational materials, training in church evaluation and selection, and mentoring student organization leaders. This Academic GA role begins August 2025. Candidates must be enrolled in post-graduate studies at BJU.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Student Discipleship/Church Curriculum Development Research Assistant
- Create a clean, neat, clear, well-crafted educational and discipleship curriculum base that will be used in whole or in part to engage students in educational and formational conversations about church choice.
- Perform church research under the direction of a Bible/Ministry professor.
- Evaluate and form educational responses/recommendations for student requests regarding local churches
- In collaboration with professors, VP leadership, and SDD staff, craft gracious, biblical, clear, and educational paragraphs for each type of situation, situating church discernment with BJU’s mission/philosophy and applied to different church choices facing students. Develop a robust sharepoint site that key mentoring staff will have access to.
- Work in collaboration with Student Development and Discipleship staff in the mentoring and direction of students regarding these church choices.
- Center for Leadership Development Coach
- Regularly meet with students as directed by Student Development and Discipleship leadership.
- Proactively engage and coach society leadership; support, mentor, and advise student organizations and student leaders.
- Provide ideation and support for student co-curricular activities.
- Provide additional support for CLD and SDD leadership for co-curricular initiatives, projects, and tasks.

- Supports the VP of Student Development & Discipleship for the Office of Ministerial Advancement
- Additional time will go toward projects to support CLD/Seminary tasks, projects, research, and initiatives.
