Senior Computer System Specialist

Position Summary: Manage imaging, software installation and deployment of computer systems to meet and support customer requirements.


  • Manage the deployment and maintenance of desktop software.
  • Maintain general knowledge on imaging processes for both PC and Apple based hardware
  • Ensure imaging processes are current and followed.
  • Oversee provisioning of computer systems.
  • Deployment of computer systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Supervise computer imaging and provisioning of student workers.
  • Oversee software deployment to new and reimaged computers.
  • Research and resolve user issues.
  • Maintain documentation about problems and solutions.
  • Train and develop employees in their professional growth.
  • Ensure procedures are consistently followed.
  • Respond quickly and competently to customer requests.
  • Provide consistent communication with customers regarding their requests.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • Exhibited knowledge of operating system platforms
  • Basic knowledge of LAN, hubs, switches, and network configuration
  • Experience in technical computer support
  • Ability to interface with users and discuss issues
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technical applications and expand their use on campus
  • Working knowledge of computer system hardware and software components
  • Working knowledge of basic office and non-standard applications
  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Desire to teach others about technology

Required Education: Associate Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
