Seminary Academic Assistant (GA)

POSITION SUMMARY: Coach, advise, and support students with various course requirements such as Logos setup, class schedules, and access to resources; assist faculty; assist the dean and assistant where needed; accomplish special projects as needed; and other key Seminary functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and advise students with course requirements such as Logos setup at the beginning of each semester, class schedules, check sheet issues, and others as needed.
  • Help with co-curricular activities of the seminary such as the annual retreat, the Stewart Custer Lecture series, CoRE Conference, and All-In for Ministry meetings.
  • Support faculty by posting syllabi, helping with technology needs, providing access to academic files, and by tracking completion of requirements of various programs.
  • Seminary receptionist—answer phones and emails, welcome individuals
  • Unlock and lock classroom doors at appropriate hours.
  • Weekly chapel
  • Assist dean, assistant, academic director, and enrollment manager as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and generally superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of seminary programs and undergraduate requirements for admission
  • Positive attitude, capable of working with others and converting ideas to practical applications
  • Skill in working in team settings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Self-starter; above average organizational skills
  • Comfortable with technology and familiarity with social media
  • Knowledgeable about Zoom
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
  • Microsoft Office
  • Technology certifications a plus
