Quantitative Research Analyst

Position Summary: Are you a detail-oriented person who has strong analytical skills? Do you want to help support the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools? Consider becoming a quantitative research analyst with the BJU Press Research & Analysis team. The Quantitative Research Analyst creates surveys to research and analyze what BJU Press customers want and expect from our products and services. Principal research will be on BJU Press textbooks and video courses but will also include other BJU Press products or services as well as internally-focused studies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design or develop research surveys using Qualtrics, a web-based research platform
  • Analyze raw data to interpret the extent and import of the findings
  • Analyze numeric survey responses
  • Analyze customer comments and reviews
  • Locate applicable secondary data
  • Prepare findings reports, including actionable recommendations for product revisions
  • Present or assist in presenting findings reports
  • Recommend courses of action for the production and marketing of materials based on insights from research
  • Recommend courses of action for qualitative research studies used to help inform quantitative research
  • Stay abreast of latest issues/trends in market research
  • Be knowledgeable of competitors in the marketplace
  • Represent the Research & Analysis department in team product line meetings

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Research experience preferred, although additional training will be given
  • Data analysis training and experience preferred
  • Experience presenting to groups; speech training preferred
  • Knowledge of educational terms and demographics preferred
  • Teaching experience helpful
  • Experience with BJU Press materials a plus
  • Knowledge of the publishing/printing process a plus
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Ability to balance multiple projects
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Adept at learning new software
  • Design ability and/or experience with templates, particularly using Microsoft Word to create research reports

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Qualtrics (or other online research tool). Experience is not required but applicant should have a proven propensity for learning software
