Quantitative Research Analyst

Position Summary: Are you a detail-oriented person who has strong analytical skills? Do you want to help support the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools? Consider becoming a quantitative research analyst with the BJU Press Research & Analysis team. The Quantitative Research Analyst develops and implements research projects, applying quantitative techniques to interpret data. Principal research will be on BJU Press textbooks and video courses but will also include other BJU Press products or services as well as internally-focused studies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design or develop research instruments using a web-based research platform
  • Analyze raw data using statistical software, interpreting the extent and import of the findings
  • Prepare findings reports, including actionable recommendations for product revisions
  • Recommend courses of action for the production and marketing of materials based on insights from research
  • Recommend courses of action for qualitative research studies used to help inform quantitative research
  • Be aware of competitors in the marketplace
  • Stay abreast of latest issues/trends in marketing research
  • Locate applicable secondary data
  • Represent the Research & Analysis department in team product line meetings
  • Present or assist in presenting findings reports

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of educational terms and demographics preferred
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of the publishing/printing process a plus
  • Design ability and/or experience with templates, particularly using Microsoft Word to create research reports
  • Adept at learning new software
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Research experience preferred, although additional training will be given
  • Teaching experience helpful
  • Data analysis training and experience preferred
  • Experience with BJU Press materials a plus
  • Experience presenting to groups; speech training

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Qualtrics (or other online research tool). Experience is not required but applicant should have a proven propensity for learning software
