Qualitative Research Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: Are you a former teacher who has strong analytical skills and excellent people skills? Do you want to help support the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools? Consider becoming a qualitative research analyst with the BJU Press Research & Analysis team. The Qualitative Research Analyst will develop and implement qualitative research projects for BJU Press and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will center on conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups and will require excellent people skills. This person will also assist with providing analysis of data received via post-discussion surveys.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Moderating focus groups and conducting in-depth interviews
  • Planning research design and implementation, including preparing discussion guides and screeners
  • Maintaining analysis, interpretation, and reporting process for qualitative research
  • Preparing and presenting findings reports, including recommendations for product revisions
  • Recommending courses of action for quantitative research studies based on findings from qualitative research
  • Handling logistics for qualitative research projects - recruiting, facility reservation and interaction, payment, etc.
  • Maintaining comprehensive notes and assisting with recording and transcription
  • Assisting as needed in quantitative research studies
  • Staying abreast of latest issues and trends in marketing research and in education
  • Be aware of competitors in the marketplace

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Highly motivated, "people" person; personable
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Ability to balance multiple projects
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Adept at learning new software
  • Design ability and/or experience with templates, particularly using Microsoft Word to create research reports

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

  • Microsoft Office
  • Qualtrics (or other online research tools as applicable). Proven aptitude for learning software and processes.

Required Education: Bachelors
Required Experience: 1-2 years related experience
