Content Marketing Writer (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Exciting opportunity for Bob Jones University undergraduate student to gain experience writing for a widely viewed and respected digital outlet -- and get paid. Position includes researching and writing news and feature stories for BJUtoday website under editor supervision. Student should have previous writing experience, and hours should not conflict with class/extracurricular activities. This is a one-semester paid position with the opportunity for extension.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This student digital content creator assists in the execution of content marketing with a strong focus on writing. Applicants should be comfortable taking direction from other team members, collaborating with staff and taking initiative to create effective and engaging copy.

The work includes:

  • Copy optimization for content marketing
  • Curate, research and write news and feature articles
  • Perform research & interviews for content
  • Write web copy
  • Collaborate with other student writers and staff

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Bob Jones University
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Strong familiarity with the web
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Familiarity with target audiences
  • Basic understanding of marketing concepts, Associated Press style
  • Quick learner who listens and asks good questions
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work
  • Enough confidence to share your ideas, participate in conversations, and take and give constructive criticism
  • Positive disposition and ability to play well with others
