Holiday Worker Elementary School Late Stay Assistant (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY: Students should be available for work Nov. 30-Dec. 18 to supervise elementary age children by learning the students’ names, leading group activities, giving devotionals, enforcing expectations, and keeping an accurate record of how long each child stays.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Group Leader

  • Prepares and gives short (5-10 minute) spiritual challenge to their group of students
  • Plans, organizes, and runs game-time (about 40 minutes) for their group
  • Organizing includes setting up, explaining the rules, dividing the students into teams, refereeing, and in most cases playing the game with the students

Car Line

  • Verifies parents’ car tags
  • Calls for students over the radio
  • Double checks on cars that have been waiting a while for their child
  • Needs to be able to think clearly under pressure

Desk

  • Keeps a detailed record of the times that each child was checked in
  • Clocks each child in and out with timekeeping system
  •  Needs to be able to think clearly under pressure

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
  • Christ like testimony and unwavering integrity
  • Desire to learn & improve
  • Genuine love for student
  • Experience working with students (esp. ages 6-12) is desirable, but not required

Desk or Carline

  • Experience working in a pressured environment where attention to detail is important (i.e. a fast food restaurant)
