Culinary Arts Crew (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Assist Culinary Arts Faculty and Lab Supervisors by daily maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation of the Culinary Arts Lab.  Additional responsibilities include food preparation and production as well as helping in culinary arts events and operations.  Opportunity for advancement to Lab Supervisor.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completing daily checklists issued by Chef Instructor
  • Scaling and preparing food items
  • Making stocks
  • Occasional cooking
  • Cleaning & sanitizing lab
  • Managing food in dry storage and refrigerators
  • Putting away deliveries
  • Organizing equipment
  • Comprehensive floor and equipment cleaning and sanitizing with Saturday crew

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work physically for long periods of time (events).
  • Average shifts are 3 to 5 hours long
  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Interview with Chef Instructor required.
