POSITION SUMMARY: The Alumni Service GA is responsible for all front-line interactions with alumni both in the office and at events. This position is a key role in the alumni office, allowing fresh perspective and connection with the newest alumni and contributing to ideas and direction for programs and events. The Alumni Service GA also executes key alumni communications under the supervision of the Communications Specialist and Director. This role is trained by the Office Coordinator, and some of the more basic functions are overseen by the Office Coordinator.


Reception and Office Care (answers to Office Coordinator unless otherwise directed)

  • Manages alumni email account
  • Answer alumni main phone
  • Directory search requests
  • Church search requests
  • Data management, under direction from Operations Manager
  • Membership management
  • Clear trash weekly
  • Vacuum weekly
  • Wipe down common surfaces weekly or as needed
  • Refill water as needed
  • Pick up mail from the Post Office daily

Communications Logistics (answers to Communications Manager unless otherwise directed)

  • Physical office mailings: Baby Brody, special events, thank yous, memberships, etc.
  • Social media assistant
  • Collect Class Notes for Voice of the Alumni

Events Staff

  • Set up/tear down
  • Host/staff events
  • Other tasks as needed

Special Projects

  • As directed


  • Strong people skills both in person and on the phone.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Willingness to provide even menial service both in the office and for events.
  • High degree of personal pride taken in work.
  • Ability to coordinate details and execute basic data entry and some data management.
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changes.
  • Physically able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up 100 lbs. 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree; Must be enrolled in post-graduate studies at BJU
