International Resident Student Retention Specialist

Position Summary: Assist the International Student Relations Director to improve retention of international students, especially from 2nd to 3rd year and 3rd to 4th year and may be asked to aid in recruiting efforts to meet the numerical goals from the International territory.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement strategies that improve present international student retention rates
  • Meet individually with each international student to assess retention health
  • Recruit and meet numerical goals to enroll best-served students from the international territory
  • Be on call and available to advise for international emergency medical needs
  • Work with the campus database system to save all communications
  • Some travel may be required
  • Perform additional office functions as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Native fluency in at least one foreign language is essential (Chinese, Korean or Spanish)
  • Experience working and studying abroad
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to relate well to people from diverse cultures
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and implement goals
  • Strong computer experience with technology applications
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Professional presentation experience

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: No prior experience necessary
