POSITION SUMMARY: Safely operate waste and recycling collection vehicles throughout the Bob Jones University property. Load and unload waste and/or recycling materials at the various collection sites on campus.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, schedule, and perform the regular collection and sorting of waste and recyclable materials
- Take appropriate steps to align with best practices. Flexibility to adapt to changes as needed.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper working order and perform any minor maintenance or repairs as necessary.
- Does other duties as needed in the Landscape Department
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
WORK EXERTION LEVEL \ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- This is a physically demanding job that involves but is not limited to standing, stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, physical stability, mobility, pushing, and pulling.
