Student Life Special Projects Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: Execute special projects designed to enhance the discipleship emphasis within the Student Development & Discipleship office while maintaining knowledgeable awareness of trends, patterns and sentiment within the student body.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service for Student Life Office (speaking with students/parents/colleagues, answering phones, e-mails, etc.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging between policies and inquiries
  • Assist in mail pick up and delivery
  • Manage group exemptions that come in the Student Life email (away.bju.edu)
  • Manage Independent Studies in Canvas for AGL/GL’s
  • Assist assistant directors for follow up on church attendance, infractions, etc. for Day students
  • Assist office manager with Student Life email account
  • (leader training, Discipleship Seminars, etc.)
    • Provide assistance for annual leadership retreat
    • Provide oversight for continual AGL/GL training
    • Provide assistance for discipleship seminars
    • Provide assistance for AGL/GL selection process
  • Assist Systems Coordinator with the Locks account
  • Print and distribute Christian Growth Assessments to Dorm staff
  • Manage the church bus list (call/email the churches to see if they are sending transportation on Sundays-keep updated list)
  • Oversee Housing Confirmation Process for Day students at the beginning of each semester
  • Serve as liaison between Student Life and Facilities in residence halls
  • Provide support for maintenance of physical plant (i.e. res halls)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • OnGuard (ID card access, res hall locks management and troubleshooting)
  • Student Life applications
    • Mypath (infractions and corrective responses)
    • Away (overnights; exemptions)
    • E-Review
  • Infoman
  • Student Central
  • Microsoft Office
