BJU Press Writer: Secondary Heritage

POSITION SUMMARY:  As part of the BJU Press Writer's team, you will write and revise textbooks and teacher support materials in a particular subject area (Secondary Heritage) according to Statement of Work specifications and in accordance with the BJU Press mandates for biblical worldview shaping and comprehension-based learning. You will also work with Operations and other departments to establish and meet deadlines.


  • Conducts research relating to content, national standards, tests, and other published materials
  • Particiaptes in planning scope and setting internal dates
  • Consults with the Biblical Worldview and Academic Oversight teams regularly
  • Coordinates/assists/consults on various projects with BJU, BJA, and Press Digital Production & Distribution
  • Provides customer support via phone, email, and presentations
  • Promotes BJU Press materials as needed for visiting school administrators, onsite and video conferences, BJU course, etc. Not a condition of employment.
  • Critiques and revises rough drafts
  • Provides subject matter expertise
  • Cooperates and collaborates with a team via regular meetings, assessments, and assignments
  • Maintains work flow throughout production in accordance with deadlines
  • Prepares materials according to specifications for release to other departments
  • Conducts final checks of permissions, music recordings, and photo and are requests
  • Meets weekly with the Writers Manager to plan projects and receive direction

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
