Music Library Supervisor

Position Summary: Direct circulation of material in the Music Library; supervise staff and inventory.


  • Maintain efficient circulation procedures and records; strive to continually simplify and improve operations
  • Maintain Course Reserves for each semester's active courses
  • Interview, supervise, and train personnel in the circulation area
  • Plan, coordinate, and measure work activities
  • Work with the Mack Library Circulation Supervisor in reconciling overdue items
  • Perform elementary reference service from the Circulation Desk
  • Assist in supervising and participate in book inventory, particularly manual counts
  • Purchase approved customer requests for new Music Library resources
  • Request Music Library supplies through Mack Library technical services
  • Coordinate courier service for Fine Arts faculty to and from the testing center
  • Building representative - reports maintenance, repair, HVAC, etc. to facilities through Schooldude online system


  • Knowledge of circulation procedures
  • Knowledge of music and musicians
  • Detail-oriented
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Effective in oral and written communication
  • Several years of library experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Supervisory experience desirable
