POSITION SUMMARY: Perform maintenance & repairs of BJU vehicles and equipment

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain various makes and models of vehicles
  • Diagnose & repair mechanical and electronic symptoms 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Performs all types of equipment and vehicle maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, replacing filters, lubrication, wheel bearing service, tire service, transmission service and differential service.
  • Diagnose, locates, and repair electrical, electronic and computerized vehicle systems. 
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace braking systems, drive trains, and transmissions
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Effective in oral and written communication 

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES: CDL License (Bus & Tractor/Trailer); ASE certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Drive motorized vehicles
  • Work around machines
  • Work above floor level
  • Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
  • Exposed to marked changes in temperature
  • Work outdoors in varying weather
  • Repetitive hand movement (firm grasp)––both hands
  • Repetitive hand movement (grasp and pull)––both hands
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull up to 100 lbs. 

Required Education: Associate's degree (two year college or technical school)
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
