The HR Staffing Specialist executes recruiting strategies in support of organizational staffing objectives and manages various aspects of the recruiting process to hire qualified candidates for various campus positions (specifically including graduate assistants and temporary positions.)

  • Executing Recruiting Strategies
    • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
    • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
    • Use social media and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
    • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport and source new candidate leads.
    • Keep current with sourcing strategies and industry trends.
  • Managing Recruiting Process
    • Manage full cycle recruiting process to meet various staffing needs across the organization.
    • Work closely with Hiring Managers to maximize effectiveness of recruiting process.
    • Review job descriptions.
    • Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications.
    • Review resumes and qualifications to determine suitability of candidates.
    • Manage communication with candidates.
    • Provide regular updates and feedback to managers.
    • Extend offers of employment
    • Ensure regulatory aspects of the full cycle recruitment process are compliant with federal and state legislation.
    • Create a positive experience for applicants during the application and onboarding process.
  • Essential Duties and Record Keeping
    • Maintain all pertinent applicant data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
    • Assist in performing reference and background checks for potential employees.
    • Assist in preparing and executing new employee orientation sessions.
    • Perform other special projects as assigned.
    • Actively participate in all staffing related activities
  • Communicates the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates
  • Answers questions concerning faith, doctrine and creed of BJU to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJU

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: One to three years of related experience is helpful
