Photo Permissions Specialist

Position Summary: Receive requests for photos and photo permissions from Permissions Manager. Research and acquire photos and photo permissions for BJU Press products.


  • Receive photo permission requests from Permissions Manager for current projects
  • Research all requests for current projects
  • Contact outside vendors and acquire high resolution images and permission to use the images
  • Obtain checks and pay outside companies if there is a cost
  • Keep track of ongoing contract issues, such as dates for contract renewals on permissions excel charts
  • Line up and direct photo shoots
  • Document and file all correspondence and information for each project
  • Acquire permissions for distance learning, e-books, and look-in-the-book websites
  • Be aware of copyright laws


  • Experience in filing, letter writing and paying bills
  • Some art and photography experience preferred
  • Some knowledge of copyright law is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to remember data and procedures
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in internet searching would be helpful. The right candidate should have no history of involvement in pornography (viewing, creating, disseminating, etc.), due to the necessity of spending large amounts of time searching for images on the internet.
