POSITION SUMMARY: An auxiliary pressman is a hard-working, self-motivated, energetic, team player with good judgement and able to work in a fast-paced environment.  Auxiliary pressmen have specific assigned tasks that are part of a highly efficient team effort and assist the lead pressman and pressman in all aspects of daily press operations and maintenance to ensure the highest quality of product and production efficiency in order to meet customer expectations.


  • Assist lead pressman and pressman in all press operations and maintenance as directed.
  • Set up folder after stock changes and monitor fold quality throughout the shift.
  • Unload, inventory, and prepare roll stock (for jobs) as directed.
  • Brick, palatize, wrap, identify, and rack printed signatures.
  • Assist in plate preparation and mounting, blanket and roller cleaning, and press set up as directed.
  • Maintain waste boxes and coordinate the removal of full boxes with coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of printing press functions and limitations.
  • Mechanical and trouble shooting ability.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical hand tools.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 100 lbs. 
  • This is an on-site position.
