Page Layout Specialist/Tech Support Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Page Layout Specialist, you will take content and concept designs provided to you and build pages of K-12 educational material. You will use your sharp eye for detail to build high-quality products with a biblical worldview. As you work and grow alongside other BJU Press team members, you can look forward to seeing your finalized work as a printed book or digital product.
  As a BJU Press Page Layout Tech Support Coordinator, you will assist the page layout manager in providing technical support to Page Layout employees and other departments. You will troubleshoot technical issues, train employees in the use of software, answer technical questions and provide instruction to resolve technical issues. You will also run automated software to maintain Page Layout workflow efficiency.


  • Create Word templates for writers and editors
  • Provide support and training in using Word templates produced by Page Layout
  • Create and modify Adobe InDesign production templates
  • Convert Word documents into desktop publishing format using InDesign
  • Build pages of provided content in InDesign
  • Assist designers in preparing and placing photos, if needed
  • Typeset
  • Provide technically accurate files to the BJU Press Printing Division
  • Maintain integrity of project files until they are archived
  • Periodically check on file structure of project folders
  • Troubleshoot reported technical issues
  • Troubleshoot template issues
  • Talk employees through a series of actions to resolve technical and template issues
  • Maintain documentation of the issues and troubleshooting steps
  • Assist in running Microsoft Power Automate


  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented with an eye for user-friendly design in educational materials
  • Ability work well independently and with others
  • Ability to both follow instructions and take appropriate initiative
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to maintain focus while sitting at a computer most of the day
  • Experience with publishing software such as Adobe InDesign and InCopy
  • Good organizational skills
  • This is an on-site position.
