The BJU Press Communications Specialist supports internal initiatives by creating content (written, graphic, and video) and coordinating projects that promote employee engagement and reinforce strategic goals and initiatives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage communication channels (email, intranet, digital signage) to deliver news and announcements quickly and simply.
  • Create content (written, graphic, and video) that promotes awareness of company strategy, goals, and initiatives.
  • Gather news and preserve information integrity.
  • Analyze data to measure employee engagement and summarize reports.
  • Work with Research & Analysis department to plan surveys to collect employee feedback.
  • Support the Internal Communications Manager with executive communication.
  • Support departmental initiatives by promoting organizational awareness.
  • Assist in planning special projects.
  • Facilitate communication between departments.
  • Maintain content schedules and calendars

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skill with ability to mange details
  • Must enjoy collaboration and working with people
  • Capable of producing results independently--a self-starter
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pivot quickly in response to shifting needs and demands
  • Aptitude for technology with ability to quickly learn digital systems and platforms
  • Knowledge and skill in MS Excel is a plus
  • Basic ability in layout/graphic design is a plus
