POSITION SUMMARY: Are you a detail-oriented person who has strong analytical skills and excellent people skills? Do you want to help support the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools? Consider becoming a research analyst with the BJU Press Research & Analysis team. The research analyst develops and implements research projects for BJU Press, conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups, and then applying quantitative techniques to interpret data received via post-discussion surveys. Principal research will be on BJU Press textbooks and video courses, but will also include other BJU Press products or services as well as internally-focused studies.


  • Assist in qualitative research by moderating focus groups, conducting in-depth interviews, and planning research design and implementation (including preparing discussion guides and screeners)
  • Handle logistics for qualitative research projects--recruitment, facility reservation and interaction, payment, etc.
  • Maintain comprehensive notes and assist with recording and transcription
  • Maintain analysis, interpretation, and reporting process for qualitative research
  • Conduct competitor analyses
  • Field comments and feedback in venues such as VIP and Exchange
  • Analyze raw data using statistical software, interpreting the extent and import of the findings
  • Prepare and present findings reports including recommendations for product revisions
  • Recommend courses of action for quantitative and qualitative research studies based on findings
  • Recommend courses of action for the production and marketing of materials based on insights from research
  • Stay abreast of latest issues/trends in marketing research
  • Locate applicable secondary data
  • Represent the Research & Analysis department in team product line meetings


  • Highly motivated, "people" person; personable
  • Proven presentation skills
  • Good organization skills; detail oriented; flexibility
  • Design ability and/or experience with templates, particularly using Microsoft Word to create research reports
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Knowledge of the publishing/printing process a plus
  • Knowledge of educational terms and demographics preferred
  • Research experience preferred, although additional training will be given
  • Data analysis training and experience preferred
  • Experience with BJU Press materials a plus
  • Experience presenting to groups; speech training a plus
  • Teaching experience a plus
  • This is an on-site position.
