Lead Design Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of artistic and design quality concerning the development of educational video segments. Oversees the Graphic Design team.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Graphic Design Specialists
  • Ensures personnel have the training and equipment necessary to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Schedules and assigns Designers to projects; guides team towards project completion deadlines
  • Coordinates segment scheduleing and deliverables with Production Supervisors
  • Ensures Work Report Chart (WRC) is up-to-date and available
  • Consults with PDG Educational Graphic Designer and Art Supervisor to ensure a cohesive appearance for projects
  • Responsible for reviewing/advising/providing feedback on set designs, Producer-created content, and pilot videos
  • Key member of all brainstorming sessions
  • Represents Production’s design requirements within Press Digital and at BJU Press
  • Advises PDG leadership on how proposed course schedule will affect lesson and segment production

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with other supervisors and negotiate to the benefit of the mission
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work with others in a creative environment
  • Self-motivated in developing creative ideas and meeting deadlines
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word 
  • Additional Programs: Creative Cloud, Illustrator, After Effects 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design
