Position Summary: Maintains and supports all production equipment and studios for all Press Digital activities (non-broadcast).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment issues to include studio and production equipment
- Ensure video files move though production workflow
- Perform upkeep of MAM/DAM database
- Assist in research, recommend, and set-up new production equipment
- Assists in special projects as assigned by Operations Supervisor or Production Manager
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and experience with audio and video equipment (cameras, lights, microphones, tripods, switchers, graphics computers, recorders, etc.)
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot signal flow (video, computer, audio)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance procedures, system documentation, technical manuals, system diagrams, etc.
- Ability to clearly write detailed procedures and technical documentation
- Ability to creatively approach problems not covered by existing procedures
- IP networking as it relates to production equipment control
- Preferred -- mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Preferred -- knowledge of nonlinear editing concepts and practices
- Preferred -- general IT support experience and skills
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
- Prior experience as an engineer in a broadcast or audio/video production facility preferred
- Experience with computers and networking
Required Education: Associate's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
