Home Education Services Technical Support Coordinator

Position Summary: As the Home Education Services Technical Support Coordinator, you will provide support for the Academy of Home Education, Testing Center, and Testing & Evaluation. Your workday may include anything from interfacing with vendors to first line hardware support. In providing support, you will also gather and communicate requirements for system updates as well as learn and train the departments when updates or new software is implemented. In between these tasks, you will also assist with processing and repairing testing materials as they circulate through inventory. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with ongoing support and IT development for all three departments.
  • Interface with IT support from scoring software vendors in Testing & Evaluation.
  • Coordinate IT support with various test service providers in Testing Center.
  • Providing first line support of all scanners, printers and hardware in all three departments.
  • Troubleshoot various IT/hardware issues within all three departments.
  • Oversee scoring, data warehouse maintenance, all testing of future eCommerce developments.
  • Coordinate any IT updates provided by BJU IT and communicate with departments regarding transitions via updates.
  • Lead all training and development for all online testing for private schools and homeschool customers.
  • Provide training for all private schools that adopt the online testing options.
  • Interface with technical support staff in schools regarding the online testing option.
  • Preparing test booklets for recirculation.
  • Assisting customers via phone.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough understanding of BJU Press Testing systems, procedures, and IT needs
  • Practical understanding of a programming mindset
  • eCommerce understanding and experience
  • Basic understanding of HTML & CSS markup
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages preferred
  • Strong computer aptitude
  • Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with IT programmers, tech support, vendors/suppliers, and sometimes tech support for customers
  • Ability to troubleshoot software problems and printer problems
  • Understanding of and troubleshooting experience with Windows, macOS, iOS, Chrome OS
  • Supportive of homeschooling
  • Training or experience in education, IT support and/or homeschooling is beneficial

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
