Outreach Supervisor/Librarian

Position Summary: Oversee the customer service staff and community outreach programs and events of Mack Library; supervise and train customer service personnel; maintain department procedures and policies

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain efficient customer service procedures, records, and statistics
  • Oversee the training and scheduling for customer service assistants
  • Oversee or coordinate the booking of Mack Library space for groups and events
  • Lead initiatives to market Mack Library to BJU constituency and Greenville community
  • Work as a liaison with faculty of an academic school or division.
  • Participate in opportunities to instruct groups in the use of library resources
  • Assist in the supervision of the book inventory process

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Supervisory skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Team player
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Effective in oral and written communication
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends when the schedule requires
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull or lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Required Education: Master's degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
