Museum & Gallery Educator

Position Summary: The museum educator helps develop, plan, and implement educational programs (such as Homeschool Days, Kids Create!, or tours) for M&G's K-12 audience. Depending on personal availability and the projects at hand, this can be a part-time or full-time position. This will be determined on an individual basis.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing lessons and teaching M&G's Homeschool Days program
  • Assisting educational staff with projects

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to interact with children
  • Must be familiar with educational directives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Responsible, mature, and creative
  • Teacher certification desired
  • Working towards a masters degree or 5 years teaching experience

Required Education: Masters or better
Required Experience: 1-2 years: related experience
