POSITION SUMMARY: Material Handlers have a varied and wide-ranging area of responsibilities. Their keen eye for detail as to when a product moves, knowing where it moves, and how it is to be handled is a critical component of day to day operations in our facility. Their tasks relate to raw material inventory management, staging work in process, and direct production support and require the energy and focus of a self-disciplined individual who can easily adapt to changing priorities and excel in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work 2nd & 3rd shifts (1PM-9PM, 8:30PM-6:30AM).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Shipping & Receiving Coordinator in day to day operations, organization, and staging of raw materials and work in process across all cost centers throughout the shop.
- Assist with all incoming and outgoing shipments and distribute or locate incoming shipments as directed.
- Operate the roll stand, stage and replace ink & coating barrels, on our large digital press.
- Provide miscellaneous production support on the large digital press line as well as other equipment.
- Regular operation and maintenance of clamp truck, forklifts, electric and hand pallet jacks
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Good understanding of workflow and processes within the facility
- Strong math, computer, and accurate record keeping skills
- Good analytical, mechanical, and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions
- Understanding of and ability to use mechanical hand tools
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable driving a small truck for pickups and deliveries
- Courteous in communication with management, fellow workers, and vendor and supply chain drivers
- Desire to perform all-around high-quality work
- Demonstrated reliability through attendance, punctuality, and ability to maintain focus
- Ability to work shifts regularly and overtime as needed
- Previous warehouse operations and supply chain experience a plus, but not necessary
- Forklift and/or clamp truck experience preferred
- Inventory control system experience preferred
- Microsoft Office
