POSITION SUMMARY: The BJU Press Learning & Development Specialist shares a passion for people, hospitality, and learning. In this role, you support a high quality employee experience by helping define, build, and deliver learning strategies for professional development. This position partners closely with key stakeholders across all business functions to implement learning and development for all career paths at BJU Press.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in defining learning strategies that positively influence employee performance through program leadership, analysis, evaluation/measurement, processes, tools and technology.
- Implement best-in-class learning methods to improve existing learning and development programs at the direction of the Director of Culture & Engagement.
- Design learning paths by assessing learning gaps, analyzing needs, and evaluating the effectiveness of external learning programs.
- Advise on the most appropriate instructional delivery styles based on current industry data and trends (in person, eLearning, video scripts, virtual classrooms).
- Partner with key stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts directly to understand needs and provide direction that meet the learning needs and career progressions for various departments.
- Work closely with Human Resources to support aspects of the BJU Press performance management program.
- Plan and manage training logistics and coordination, including scheduling and equipment needs for training events.
- Create and communicate learning schedules and pertinent information to employees, managers, and key points of contact.
- Assist in planning surveys and metrics to measure employee success.
- Support the key Culture & Engagement business functions, as well as change management efforts.
- Manage training certificates as appropriate.
- Support employee recognition programs.
- Work within the financial budget as determined by the Director of Culture & Engagement.
- Submit expense reports to the Director of Culture & Engagement.
