IT Application Support Specialist

Position Summary:  Responsible for providing application level technical support to various business units across the BJU organization.  This position will work closely with users in supporting their daily use of our ERP platform and other systems.   Also providing a single point of contact to escalate support issues to our application vendors

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide application level technical support for university applications
  • Perform basic programming for application integrations and configuration (e.g. JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell)
  • Work with users to fully realize the value from purchased applications (e.g. enabling new features, process optimization)
  • Schedule upgrades with customers and the application vendor
  • Answer questions and provide occasional training for business power users
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Desire to understand complex systems and teach others to use them
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with customer support practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem

Required Education: Associate's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
