Fulfillment Coordinator & Print Production Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: As the Fulfillment Line Coordinator you will be directly responsible for the prompt and accurate fulfillment of all standard warehouse orders. Specific duties will vary depending on the time of year and order volume. Availability for overtime is required during peak season (May-Sept). This job will require seasonal shiftwork and flexibility to assist in other departments. As a Print Production Technician working in the Printing Division September through May you will be part of various teams that are responsible for the printing and binding of books and related curriculum products. This job will also require regular second and third shift work.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Distribution Center:
    • Work required shiftwork including over-time and Saturdays during peak season (May-Sept), and as necessary.
    • Monitor status and progress of all orders to ensure timely completion (especially rush orders).
    • Organize and assign pick line, high-volume workers per work load, order flow, and assist in training as necessary.
    • Communicate emergency re-stock needs and item issues to re-stock personnel or supervisor.
    • Troubleshoot and solve box and pick problems on pick line and high-volume.
    • Keep assigned areas well-organized, clean, safe, and stocked with necessary supplies each day.
    • Inform shipping supervisor and maintenance technician of any equipment or system issues.
    • Assist with item relocation when necessary.
    • Assist in fulfillment as necessary, promptly opening, picking, and completing available orders.
    • Assist on shipping dock and trucks as needed.
    • Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors and manager.
  • Printing Division:
    • Learn & understand job ticket and work order to verify correct specifications for each job.
    • Set up and run jobs on various printers, finishing, and bindery equipment.
    • Follow shop schedule and supervisor's direction in prioritization of tasks.
    • Record all activities in data collection program.
    • Perform regular and preventative maintenance as well as trouble shooting and repairs on equipment as needed.
    • Properly load, identify, and stage prior to, during, and after completion.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Prior experience on fulfillment line very helpful
  • Microsoft office experience helpful

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Distribution Center:
    • Good leadership, organizational, and oral communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and calmly solve problems in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexibility - able to remain focused and handle changes and challenges in a professional manner
    • Compatibility - able to work with and supervise others with various skill levels
    • Ability to teach and train younger workers (counseling skills helpful)
    • Responsibility and dependability in accomplishing daily tasks and goals
    • A sense of urgency in getting things done
    • Attention to detail
  • Printing Division:
    • Strong analytical, mechanical, and trouble shooting skill sets. Must have good visual acuity and manual dexterity.
    • Familiarity with various substrates: grain, bulking, and performance characteristics.
    • Must be dependable with a solid work ethic, a positive attitude, and a focus on consistent quality.
    • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written as well as verbal instructions.
    • Strong communication and above average interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others
    • Strong math and basic level computer skills
    • Ability to work shifts regularly and overtime as needed
    • One year of manufacturing or related experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to work with accuracy and maneuver in tight spaces

  • Must not be color blind.
