Position Summary: The graduate assistant hired for this position will be responsible for teaching 3 sections of Com 101 (9 classroom hours per week). In preparation for teaching, this graduate assistant will construct and submit lesson plans on a weekly basis to his/her supervisor. This graduate assistant will be fully responsible for teaching all course content, grading all speech projects and written work, and meeting with students outside of class who need additional assistance. This is a 9-month GA position starting January 2025.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lesson planning
- Teaching course content
- Grading
- Meeting with students one on one
- Mentoring Students
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of public speaking strategies
- Effective public speaker
- Organization
- Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
