EDUcamp Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: The EDUcamp Coordinator for BJU, Inc. will lead and execute the EDUcamp Program including BASEcamp, EDUcamp Jr. and EDUcamp Proper, as well as partner and coordinate with BJA on various projects and with the BJU Athletic Department to implement Bruins Sports Camps. The coordinator's primary focus will be on growing and strengthening the BJU, Inc. EDUcamp summer program in a sustainable and profitable manner. The coordinator will coordinate marketing and recruiting efforts required for the efficient operation of the EDUcamp events and programs, perform diversified and advanced organizational duties, and work with the EDUcamp team of camp directors and support staff to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all EDUcamp programming
  • Coordinate with EDUcamp directors and support personnel
  • Coordinate hiring of necessary staff with Human Resources according to staffing policies
  • Research market needs for growing BJU summer educational programs
  • Oversee development of programs along with educational directors
  • Communicate with marketing about project timelines and campaigns
  • Implement BJU leadership’s vision for EDUcamps
  • Coach staff and provide training
  • Partner with BJA and Bruins Athletics to accomplish objectives
  • Complete additional tasks for EDUcamp and BJA as assigned
  • Ensure the business model for EDUcamp is sustainable and profitable

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to take initiative and implement a vision
  • Passion to develop K-12 student potential
  • Team player; collaborative
  • Ability to delegate and motivate
  • Previous experience working with students as well as experience working on staff at a camp preferred.
