Donor Relations Stewardship Coordinator

Position Summary: Aids the mission of BJU by seeking to serve donors and alumni through timely execution of stewardship activities and the implementation of Advancement phonathon practices with student employees who seek to establish relationships with donors and alumni through solicitation, stewardship and special invitations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the organization, communication and implementation of activities relating to Advancement events and office policy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stewardship Coordination
    • Coordinates accurate and detailed daily and monthly stewardship acknowledgements showing appreciation for recent gifts.
    • Assist with ensuring stewardship letters are signed by appropriate individuals and are mailed in a timely manner.
    • Coordinates membership packets for members of the Bruins Athletic Club, Heritage Society, and President’s Society.
    • Assists with donor acknowledgment, stewardship, recognition, and engagement opportunities/events as needed.
  • Call Center Coordination
    • Oversees the execution of phonathon practices with the team of Alumni Ambassadors, our student employees, as they seek to serve donors by inviting them to special events, soliciting funds, and thanking them for their gifts. This involves regularly checking they are meeting their goals, answering questions as they arise, and training them on successful communication.
  • Advancement Office Support
    • Answers departmental phone lines promptly and with courtesy and professionalism, providing assistance and making calls when needed
    • Manage all in-office mailings, incoming/outgoing mail, filing, and printing responsibilities
    • Upkeep office supply inventory, especially letterhead, and order supplies as needed
    • Perform regular data entry tasks as needed.
    • Assist with other tasks as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and an ability to maintain a high-level of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and be flexible and positive while working well under authority
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a constantly changing work environment.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, especially new acquaintances

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Required Education: High School Graduate or GED
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
