Printing Division Manager of Purchasing and Budgeting

Position Summary: Are you a ministry-minded person who desires to answer God's call to help spread His word around the world?  The BJU Press Printing Division is looking for a faithful individual to manage all purchasing related activities for the Print Shop, work with the Director to coordinate personnel staffing, and develop and monitor the annual and monthly divisional budgeting process.


  • Directly responsible for all purchasing activities for the Printing Division, including preparation of requisitions and purchase orders, and monitoring purchase order processing to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Responsible for monthly and annual inventory process and related reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with director to determine specific staffing needs and implementation
  • Work with IT to ensure operational hardware/software needs are met
  • Responsible for development of annual operating budget for division
  • Monitor operations to ensure they remain within budgetary standards
  • Look for ways to increase plant efficiency and productivity
  • Annual calculation of departmental operating rates for Print Shop
  • Assist director with various reporting requirements
  • Work with director in various cost accounting exercises
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Experience with purchasing processes
  • Knowledge of shipping and inventory systems and procedures
  • Leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience developing budgets
  • Advanced math and computer skills
  • Problem-solver with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and negotiate shipper and vendor contracts
  • Three to five years of management and/or supervisory experience
  • This is an on-site position.
