Director of Financial Aid

Position Summary: Responsible for the administration of established financial aid programs (federal, state and institutional funds) and adheres to all regulations with integrity while upholding the mission of Bob Jones University. Provides financial aid oversight and advisement and establishes procedures, processes, and policies in compliance with current federal, state and institutional guidelines.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as a collaborative, team-focused leader by leading, directing and overseeing all activities in the Financial Aid Office.
  • Encourage enrollment growth by participating in enrollment strategy discussions regarding institutional student financial aid packages and budgets.
  • Strengthen financial aid communication campus wide by participating in meetings with university stakeholders regarding the development of new academic programs, academic year parameters and scholarship development.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial aid communication to all students by maximizing the capabilities of the current financial aid system, overseeing the administration of special scholarship programs, and reviewing all packaging and communication processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, Veterans Affairs, and NCAA regulations by overseeing the creation and submission of all required reporting including institutional aid reports, audit reports, athletic reviews and data reports requested by external college information reporting organizations.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state and NCAA regulations by participating in regular training and providing training opportunities for financial aid staff.
  • Maintain financial aid customer satisfaction and confidence by regularly reviewing the policies, procedures and processes of the Financial Aid Office maximizing the strengths of the personnel.      

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal and leadership experience
  • Experience in handling and directing multiple complex assignments and projects
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Skill in working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus
  • Excellent computer skills in general computer applications and the ability to learn new applications and programs quickly
  • Three or more years of financial aid experience, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
  • Willingness to complete the  he Certified Financial Aid Administrator® Program through NASFAA

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
