Digital Education Teacher (Elementary Heritage)

Position Summary: As a Digital Education Teacher, you are part of a team that embraces the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools. Your workday focuses on the preparation and delivery of educational content primarily within the framework of distance learning video courses but also across a variety of electronic platforms and in print. This is not a remote position. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the Digital Education Senior Manager to determine the academic design for the assigned course/content
  • Works with the art department and visuals specialist to determine set design, master slide design, and overall visual "look and feel" for the assigned course/content
  • Writes lessons designed for single-student studio presentations based on BJU Press course/content
  • Works with a segment content specialist to identify appropriate content to be presented in special video segments
  • Works with an assistant to prepare slides and other visuals for assigned course/content
  • Works with a packet specialist to prepare supporting paperwork for assigned course/content
  • Works with an online specialist to adapt content for online course use
  • Works with an assessments specialist to prepare valid, reliable, and online-compatible assessments
  • Works with a production team to produce special video segments
  • Works with a video specialist to record video lessons for assigned course/content
  • Works with a QC specialist to make any needed corrections to video lessons and/or content
  • Works with Marketing to prepare promotional and/or support videos for BJU Press courses and other products

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of BJU Press educational philosophy
  • Knowledge of subject matter being taught
  • Understanding of the target audience (elementary, junior high, or high school)
  • Ability to develop educationally sound lesson plans using the BJU Press course/content
  • Ability to explain new content clearly and logically
  • Ability to integrate biblical principles in subject matter
  • Ability to model and teach critical thinking
  • Ability to speak clearly, fluently, and naturally on camera (applicants will be screen tested prior to being considered for the position.)
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to respond to questions, complaints, and suggestions from users
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly
  • Good writing skills
  • Organizational ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Teacher certification preferred
