Design Team Manager

Position Summary: As Design Team Manager, you are responsible to oversee the implementation of established project plans for your assigned Design Teams. You work with Art & Design management and Operations to resolve project issues, reduce and manage project risks, and facilitate the completion of project-related Design tasks. You collaborate with other members of the Art & Design management team to solve problems, make improvements, and develop positive departmental culture.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Collaborates with the Creative Lead to hire and assign the best-fit talent to each Design Team
  • Collaborates with the Creative Lead on issues related to look-and-feel or Design process
  • Collaborates with Operations, DesignOps, Lead Designer, and the Senior Manager of Art & Design on scheduling and planning
  • Track and report key project milestone dates, including any additions or changes to project schedules
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking internal departmental milestones (covers, concept design reviews, etc.)
  • Handles changes in scope and day-to-day issue management that affects scheduling and planning
  • Manages capacity planning and workload balance within their assigned Design Teams
  • Tracks progress of Design tasks assigned to their assigned Design Team
  • Conducts regular Design Team meetings
  • Be forward-thinking and committed to ongoing improvements in both processes and technology
