POSITION SUMMARY: Do you enjoy problem solving and helping others? The BJU Press Customer Account Services is a team that is mission focused, provides a pleasant work environment, and offers some schedule flexibility. The Customer Account Services Analyst will primarily assist our customers with their accounts. There is opportunity for cross-training and working on projects with the entire Business Office Team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contact customers who have past due accounts by telephone, email, and mail.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with customers based on their financial situations.
- Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls.
- Answer questions and resolve problems regarding credit cards.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding account terms, invoices, credit memos, payments, account statements, and sales tax exemptions.
- Verify new accounts to determine customer types.
- Process credit applications and set account credit limits.
- Communicate effectively with customers and sales team.
- Assist in productivity improvement.
- Be flexible to change tasks as needed.
- Cross-train to assist other team members.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of general office accounting practices
- Ability to act with propriety and maintain confidentiality of customer and business information
- Good telephone manners
- Good verbal and written skills
- Flexibility to switch tasks when needed
- Ability to build relationships with other BJU Press departments
- Ability to work independently when needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to adapt to changes
- Organizational skills and accuracy with numbers and details
