Position Summary:  Do you like working across teams to develop compelling content? As a content manager, you'll work with teams inside Marketing and across the University to produce compelling marketing collateral, advertising, video scripts, and copy. It will require giving/receiving creative and editorial feedback from/to stakeholders and colleagues. You'll also lead and edit the writing team.


  • Oversee the development of message content and creative briefs for university advertising and publications based on communications/marketing objectives/strategies, target audience and stakeholder requirements
  • Participate on the Marketing leadership team
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen understanding of the special requirements to write compelling and effective marketing and advertising higher-ed materials
  • Oversee the content planning of university advertising, including print, display, digital, and direct
  • Oversee the content planning of recruitment communication including email, university publications such as promotional brochures, viewbooks, and other publications, admissions/student recruitment promotions, etc.
  • Develop editorial governance so content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone
  • As a key member of the Marketing team, participate with CMO, VP for Enrollment and Marketing, CCO, enrollment leadership team, and marketing  leadership team in planning content/approach for key marketing initiatives
  • Team with Marketing to provide overall input on objectives and audiences for university communication
  • Serve as the editorial leader for marketing
  • Using the project management system, work with a Project Manager to plan tasks for projects, oversee writing assignments of writing team
  • Keep writing team up-to-date on message direction and ensure their copy is on message
  • As assigned, provide account coordination for major Marketing stakeholders
  • Support creative manager in maintaining integrity of the University brand, trademarks and logos
  • Work to achieve high level of customer service
  • Assist with proofreading/editing as required
  • Alert Director of Marketing and/or CMO of issues requiring their attention
  • Execute projects as requested by Director of Marketing and/or CMO

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (Marketing, Journalism, or English (or other degree with demonstrated writing experience)
Required Experience: 3-4 years
