CDC Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY: Teach, supervise, and manage the classroom, infant through 2 years old. *This is a 12 month position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, plan, and implement daily curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and provides social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual experiences for children in the classroom.
  • Follow proper safety guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and techniques.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in childcare or education preferred.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate activities for young children
  • Ability to provide guidance for young children
  • Ability to work with children and to move quickly, assist and supervise young children, lift children, equipment and supplies, and hear and see at a distance
  • Exhibit patience, creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm and stamina
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Consistently model Christlike attitude and demeanor with staff, children and parents

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

  • 15 clock hours of training annually pertaining to growth and development, curriculum, health and safety and professional development
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Bloodborne Pathogens and Right to Know training as required by federal law
