Business Writing Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide instruction for a variety of writing classes, guiding students as they develop skills for success in the workplace. The classes could cover audience and situation analysis, appropriate and clear writing styles, and standard message formatting.

Writing courses for fall 2024 will be Business Writing and in the future could include courses such as Technical Writing, Expository Writing, Media Writing, and Public Relations Writing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach assigned courses in writing (including class preparation, grading, and other related teaching activities)
  • Support activities related to the University, academic school, division, and department
  • Maintain regular posted office hours to be available to students
  • Affirm the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of teaching field
  • MA in appropriate field - communication, business, writing, journalism, public relations, etc.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
  • Possess and communicate a Biblical worldview and integrate those principles into subject matter
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues

An applicant must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
