Position Summary: Are you a detail-oriented person who has strong analytical skills? Do you want to help support the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools? Consider becoming a quantitative research analyst with the BJU Press Research & Analysis team. The Quantitative Research Analyst develops and implements research projects, applying quantitative techniques to interpret data. Principal research will be on BJU Press textbooks and video courses but will also include other BJU Press products or services as well as internally-focused studies.

Position Summary: As a BJU Press Digital Video Specialist you will be a part of a creative team tasked with designing, planning, casting, and recording short educational videos that supports biblically based curriculum developed by BJU Press. You will also be part of a lesson recording team that will capture live video recordings of teachers' lessons in a recording studio. Your editing skills will be honed and put to the test in post-production as you make sure the finished product meets exacting standards of quality. Additional opportunities include audio recording and creating marketing videos to showcase our product.

Your workday might include copyediting a textbook manuscript or marking corrections on the page proofs of a teacher’s edition. As an editor, you are immersed in the details of a project. Your goal is to ensure that the writer’s message is communicated to the target audience clearly and accurately through all the elements of a product—text, graphics, and layout.

Editorial Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:  The editorial assistant primarily serves as a proofreader but may assume expanded editorial responsibilities. The proofreader assists the editors by checking and reading page proofs of BJU Press products and marking errors and inconsistencies for the editors to review. The proofreader increases the value of the products through catching errors and inconsistencies, ensuring the product’s conformity to BJU Press style, lowering production costs through working efficiently and attentively, and using standard departmental procedures and guidelines. When not busy proofreading, a proofreader reviews BJU Press policies and procedures and other appropriate reference materials or performs related tasks as directed by the proofreader supervisor. The editorial assistant’s expanded role may include select editorial work, either independently or under the direction of an editor. (This is not a remote position.)

Position Summary: The Lead Instructional Designer oversees the efforts of a team of instructional designers to develop the academic master design for each distance-learning video course.  The Lead Designer oversees research into current video instruction standards and the design and course teams’ application of those standards specifically for Press Digital.

Production Designer

Position Summary:  As a BJU Press page-layout specialist, you have a part in creating textbooks and other K-12 educational products as you place text and images into Adobe InDesign templates. The materials are all prepared for you—it’s your job to bring them together on the page. You work with an editor and other team members to proof and fine-tune the pages. When your project is finished, you send the files to the BJU Press Printing Division and then look forward to holding the printed book in your hands or seeing your work in the form of a digital textbook.

Home Education Services Technical Support Coordinator

Position Summary: As the Home Education Services Technical Support Coordinator, you will provide support for the Academy of Home Education, Testing Center, and Testing & Evaluation. Your workday may include anything from interfacing with vendors to first line hardware support. In providing support, you will also gather and communicate requirements for system updates as well as learn and train the departments when updates or new software is implemented. In between these tasks, you will also assist with processing and repairing testing materials as they circulate through inventory.
