POSITION SUMMARY: Mentor and coach middle school students who are learning how to design, build, and program robots using the VEX Robotics platform; assist middle school principal in other vital areas.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Results Area #1 Effectively Mentor and coach middle school robotics students
- Lead the middle school robotics program, including mentoring/coaching robotics classes/clubs that meet during and after the school day
- Compete initial and ongoing robotics teacher/coach training as needed
- Skillfully manage logistics and communication for student participation in robotics tournaments, including 4–6 full-day local Saturday tournaments and 1–3 overnight tournaments (robotics faculty member attends along with the team)
- Communicate the religious beliefs of BJA to students and student affiliates
- Answer questions concerning faith, doctrine, and creed of BJA to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJA.
Key Results Area #2 Assist the middle school principal in other vital areas
- Areas will be determined by the principal based on the skills/interests of the individual
- Involves approximately 2 hours/day
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSES:
- Teacher certification preferred
- Will need to apply for a teaching certificate from the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools
