POSITION SUMMARY: Provide student instruction from a Christian worldview for various undergraduate courses (both lecture and lab) in the biology major with a focus on, but not limited to, the zoo and wildlife concentration.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mentoring and advising students in the area of biological sciences
- Teaching related to area of expertise in biology courses
- Teaching other assigned courses and labs
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to attend the BJU Summer Institute in Teaching Science
- Commitment to a conceptual approach to teaching
- Desire to create a "natural critical learning environment" for students in and out of the classroom
- Commitment to a biblically consistent view of science as articulated in the BJU Division of Natural Science philosophy statement
- Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues
- College classroom teaching experience preferred
