Administrative Assistant to the Dean and Seminary Event Coordinator

Position Summary: Serve as the administrative assistant to the Dean and coordinate and manage seminary events. This position leads and manages seminary events in conjunction with the BJU Events Department. Responsible for general office procedures oversight, facilities liaison, interdepartmental coordination, faculty meetings, and the seminary calendar.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Dean with day-to-day functions and operations.
  • Lead and/or manage all seminary events.
  • Provide immediate oversight to seminary operational and communications staff.
  • Answer or provide direction for requests directed to the Dean.
  • Manage functions that directly relate to the Dean: faculty meetings, Dean and seminary calendars, building/room reservations, Student Women’s Fellowship, and some financial and building functions.
  • Manage projects and collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Provide or gather content for the seminary weekly email and chapel announcements.
  • Provide social media and website content (non-recruitment content).
  • Liaison to the seminary communication specialist.
  • Liaison to various departments on the BJU campus.
  • Manage faculty involvement in professional development conferences (planning, expense reports, etc.).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and generally superior communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of technology
  • Skill in working in team settings
  • Positive attitude, capable of working with others and converting ideas to practical applications
  • Self-starter; above average organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with people
  • Flexible
  • Problem-solver
  • Ability to administer project plans

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: One to two year related experience
